About The Position

The Retail Team Member II delivers an Amazing Customer Experience to internal and external customers and represents Palmetto Goodwill and its I-CARE values: Integrity, Collaboration, Attitude, Respect, and Excellence. The role supports an inclusive workplace, participates in training and development, and carries out retail and donation-processing duties in accordance with established expectations and production goals.

Responsibilities include receiving donations, sorting, pricing, tagging, and stocking hardline and softline merchandise, completing sales through the point-of-sale system, inviting customers to round up their change, and accurately recording donations and production. Team members maintain a clean and safe work environment, report security or theft concerns, follow agency policies and regulatory standards, and perform other duties assigned by store management. The position requires a flexible schedule that includes weekends and reliable transportation.

Requirements

• Understand English and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
• Read and comprehend Retail Production and Training manuals and follow process instructions effectively and efficiently.
• Multitask, adapt to frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events, and adjust as work requirements change.
• Work efficiently with minimal supervision after receiving instructions.
• Thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
• Work effectively in a team-based environment and interact professionally with customers and a diverse employee base.
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, and have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Have basic computer skills, including the ability to use various retail-related systems and basic programs.
• Have completed any level of primary or secondary education, regardless of diploma or degree.

Responsibilities

• Receive donations from donors using the GRATIS process: Greet, Receipt, Assist, Thank, Invite back, Sort.
• Sort, price, and stock hardline donations for sale according to established expectations.
• Sort, tag, and stock softline donations for sale according to established expectations.
• Use the point-of-sale system accurately to complete merchandise sales and request customer change round-ups.
• Accurately record donations, merchandise production, and specified tasks.
• Meet established production goals for the role.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Demonstrate proficiency in cashier, softline production, or donor services/hardline production roles through evaluation.
• Report known or suspected security or theft problems to store management, the appropriate District Manager, or Asset Protection.
• Follow agency policies, procedures, and safety standards, maintaining compliance with CARF, Department of Labor, and other regulatory standards.
• Maintain store safety standards and report exceptions to store management.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by store management.
