About The Position

The Retail Store Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-cleaning equipment and performing a range of cleaning tasks, while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the store. The cleaner follows company policies and standards for health and safety, customer experience, merchandising, operations, and loss prevention, and is cross-trained to support multiple store areas as business needs require.

The position requires customer-service skills, attention to detail, physical stamina for cleaning work, and the ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues and supervisors. The starting pay range is USD $12.75 to $13.25 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
• Perform cleaning tasks including dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot-cleaning glass and windows.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
• Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.
• Work in multiple store areas as needed, including the backroom, front end, and sales floor.
• Support and respond to front-end coverage needs.
• Uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company guidelines, including shrink-reduction practices.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
• Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including associate meal and break-period policies.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Model customer-experience practices with internal and external customers and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
