Retail Store Cleaner
About The Position
The Retail Store Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role operates floor-cleaning equipment and performs dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning of glass and windows. It also supports store organization, recovery, customer experience, safety, and operational standards, and is cross-trained to work in multiple store areas as business needs require. The position follows company policies and procedures, including health and safety, loss prevention, merchandising, labor laws, and meal and break policies. It communicates effectively with management and Associates and participates in maintaining a positive, respectful store culture.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
- Capable of multitasking and responding appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including listening and responding appropriately.
- Capable of lifting heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Able to work effectively with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities
- Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
- Perform dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning of glass and windows.
- Follow company Health and Safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
- Cross-train in other store areas, such as the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor.
- Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
- Follow merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
- Follow operational and loss prevention controls and company policies, including shrink reduction.
- Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
- Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break period policies.
- Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
- Model customer experience practices and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
