About The Position

Guitar Center is seeking a part-time Retail Sr. Sales Associate to create welcoming customer experiences and help customers find instruments, equipment, and accessories that suit their musical interests. The role combines sales performance, product expertise, customer relationship building, merchandising, and store operations with leadership and mentoring responsibilities. As a keyholding member of the store, the associate may be called upon to open and close the store as needed.

The associate is expected to help achieve sales targets, upsell and cross-sell relevant products, maintain strong customer and community relationships, keep the store organized and stocked, and support fellow associates with customer interactions and operational tasks. Guitar Center describes its workplace as a creative, vibrant environment for people passionate about music. Eligible musician employees may use gig leave to take time off to perform or tour and return to their jobs afterward.

Requirements

• Passion for music and a solid understanding of various instruments and products.
• A proven track record in sales and the ability to exceed sales targets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to influence and inspire others to achieve goals.
• Flexibility to work additional hours if needed and nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment and help customers explore their musical interests and select appropriate gear.
• Achieve and exceed sales targets by recommending and selling instruments, accessories, and related products.
• Maintain expert-level knowledge of products, including guitars and recording equipment, and help improve colleagues’ product knowledge.
• Build and maintain customer relationships and help associates foster relationships in the local music community.
• Organize displays, restock shelves, and maintain the store.
• Guide and mentor team members and support them with customer interactions and operational tasks.
• Serve as a keyholding employee and open or close the store as needed.
