About The Position

MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is hiring an energetic, self-motivated, and professional Retail Shift Supervisor for its Marion Store - Outer team. This is an hourly, full-time position paying $19.50 per hour, with bonus potential of up to $500 per month. Required travel is 0%.

Requirements

At least 1 year of retail management experience or previous Goodwill Retail or Warehouse experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including customer service, conflict resolution, and teamwork.
Leadership skills, including decision-making, motivation, goal-setting, and problem-solving.
Comfort using workplace technology, including registers, scheduling, and inventory management software.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise, direct, and train assigned staff, ensuring they perform their essential functions.
Provide excellent internal and external customer service, support repeat donors and shoppers, encourage staff retention, and promptly de-escalate customer dissatisfaction.
Coach and counsel employees on job performance, including imposing discipline up to and including termination.
Use independent judgment to assign daily duties and meet operational tasks.
Identify and recommend high-performing employees for advancement.
Safeguard company property and personal information and report theft, misappropriation, inappropriate or unethical behavior, or unauthorized possession of company property to management, Human Resources, or Risk Management.
Read, follow, model, and enforce agency policies, procedures, and values.
Use efficient staffing methods, arrange coverage for absent employees when needed, and audit, edit, and approve payroll.
Reduce wasteful practices through process improvement.
Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with MERS Goodwill’s dress code.
Perform other duties as assigned.
