About The Position

ScanScape is hiring a permanent part-time Retail Scan Associate to collect in-store product data at assigned local retailers each week. Associates visit designated stores and scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps. For about 45% of scanned products, associates also provide quantity information. The collected data is analyzed and used to improve product and retailer sales performance. Associates use a downloadable app on a mobile phone to scan barcodes throughout each store. Weekly work includes scanning displays across the entire store and completing Custom Projects that provide more specific product details in main stocking locations. Custom Projects occur almost every week and can add 1–2 hours per store. Associates must meet weekly deadlines and work independently while maintaining dependable, quality-driven performance. The route includes a grocery store in Petersburg, WV, available Thursday or Friday; a grocery store in Franklin, WV, available Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday; and a mass retailer in Moorefield, WV, available Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday. Base hours average 7–14 per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional special-project hours, typically 1–2 per week per store, are frequently assigned throughout the year, with higher demand from January through June. The role operates year-round for 52 weeks, including holiday weeks. Full scheduling details are reviewed during the interview. The work involves continuous physical activity during the shift.
