About The Position

ScanScape Retail Scan Associates visit designated local retail stores each week to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including end caps. They use a downloadable mobile-phone app to scan products and provide quantity information for about 45% of the products scanned. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance.

Associates complete in-store data collection at assigned retailers each week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Display scanning covers the entire store and can take several hours. Custom Projects, requested frequently by clients for more detailed product information in main stocking locations, occur almost every week and may add 1–2 hours per store. Associates must meet weekly deadlines and are expected to work dependably and accurately while working independently.

This permanent part-time role averages 6–15 base hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional project hours are frequently assigned throughout the year, with higher demand from January through June. The route includes grocery stores in Johnstown and Seward, Pennsylvania, with available workdays varying by store. Full scheduling details are reviewed during the interview. The position involves continuous physical activity throughout the workday, and offers some flexibility in working hours.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a reliable vehicle and minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Ability to remain on your feet for long periods while accessing products throughout a store.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Must be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Must have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Must be tech savvy.
