About The Position

ScanScape Retail Scan Associates visit a designated selection of stores each week to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps. The collected data is analyzed to improve product and retailer sales performance. Associates use a downloadable mobile phone app to scan barcodes and provide quantities for about 45% of the products scanned.

The role involves weekly in-store data collection at assigned retailers for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Associates complete display scanning throughout the store each week, which can take several hours, and may also complete Custom Projects requested by clients. These projects occur almost every week and may add 30 minutes to 2 hours of work per store. Associates must meet weekly deadlines and work independently, reliably, and accurately.

This is a permanent part-time role. Base hours average 6–9 hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours, typically 1–2 hours per week per store, are frequently assigned for special projects throughout the year, with higher demand from January through June. The listed route includes grocery stores in Bellaire and Charlevoix and a convenience store in Petoskey, with workdays varying by store. The position offers some flexibility in working hours, subject to scheduling and client requirements, and includes continuous physical activity during the workday.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to remain on your feet for long periods while accessing products throughout a store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
