About The Position

ScanScape Retail Scan Associates visit assigned local retail stores each week to collect in-store product data. Using a downloadable app on a mobile phone, associates scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations throughout the store, including aisle end caps. They also provide quantity information for about 45% of the products scanned. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance.

Associates complete weekly Display Scanning across the entire store, which can take several hours, and may also complete Custom Projects that provide more detailed information about products in main stocking locations. Custom Projects occur almost every week and can add 30 minutes to two hours of work per store. Associates are expected to meet store deadlines every week throughout the year, including holiday weeks.

This permanent part-time role averages 6–9 base hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional project hours are frequently assigned, typically 1–2 hours per week per store, with higher demand from January through June. The position offers some scheduling flexibility and independence, and involves continuous physical activity throughout the workday. Assigned route locations include grocery stores in Bellaire and Charlevoix and a convenience store in Petoskey, with available workdays varying by store.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and at least the minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to remain on your feet for long periods while accessing products throughout a store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
