About The Position

The Retail Scan Associate performs in-store data collection at assigned local retailers each week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Using a downloadable app on a mobile phone, the associate scans barcodes in numerous locations throughout each store and records quantities for about 45% of the products scanned. Store types may include grocery, convenience, drug, pet, and mass merchandise retailers, including major national chains and small independent retailers.

The associate reports to assigned stores within specified deadlines and completes Display Scanning throughout the entire store each week, which can take several hours. Custom Projects, which involve gathering more specific details about products in main stocking locations, occur almost every week and may add one to two hours of work per store. Dependability, accuracy, and meeting weekly deadlines are important. The position offers independence and some flexibility in scheduling, with continuous physical activity during shifts.

This is a permanent, part-time position averaging 8–10 base hours per week across stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional project hours are frequently assigned during the year, with higher demand from January through June. The role includes work during holiday weeks. Scheduling details are reviewed during the interview.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and at least the minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to stand for long periods and access products throughout a store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
