About The Position

ScanScape is hiring a permanent, part-time Retail Scan Associate to collect in-store product data at assigned local retailers each week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Associates visit designated stores and use a downloadable mobile-phone app to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including end caps. They also report quantities for about 45% of the products scanned. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance.

The base workload averages 3–7 hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional work for special projects is frequently assigned, typically adding 1–2 hours per week per store, with higher demand from January through June. Associates must meet store-specific deadlines. Display Scanning covers the entire store each week and may take several hours; Custom Projects requesting more detailed product information in main stocking locations occur almost every week. Full scheduling details are reviewed during the interview.

The position offers workplace independence and some flexibility in working hours, while requiring continuous physical activity during shifts and dependable, quality-driven work. Routes listed include convenience stores in Edinburgh and Columbus, a grocery store in Edinburgh, and a club store at Merchant Mile in Columbus, with available workdays varying by store. Compensation is $15–$16 per hour. Travel is paid at the hourly rate, excluding the first and last 15 minutes.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and at least the minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to stand for long periods and access products throughout the store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
