About The Position

ScanScape is hiring a part-time Retail Scan Associate to collect in-store data at assigned local retailers every week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Associates visit designated stores and use a downloadable app on their mobile phone to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps. They are asked to provide quantities for about 45% of the products scanned. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance.

The role includes weekly Display Scanning throughout the entire store, which can take several hours. Clients also frequently request Custom Projects for more detailed information about products in main stocking locations; these projects occur almost every week and may add 30 minutes to two hours per store in applicable weeks. Associates must meet weekly deadlines and work dependably and accurately, with independence and some flexibility in scheduling.

Base hours average 2–5 hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours, typically 1–2 hours per week per store, are frequently assigned for special projects throughout the year, with higher demand from January through June. The route lists a convenience store in Emerson, New Jersey, available Sunday through Thursday, and a grocery store in Emerson, available Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Scheduling details are reviewed during the interview. The role involves continuous physical activity during work shifts.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to remain on your feet for long periods while accessing products throughout the store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
