About The Position

The Retail Sales position is a seasonal role in Nordstrom’s Holiday Gift Shop at Old Orchard Center. The ideal salesperson is passionate about fashion and styling and can cultivate and grow a customer following both digitally and in-store. Hours and schedules vary by week based on business needs. The role may occasionally require performing duties in a department other than the one hired into.

Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
Continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to handle bulky and awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting items above the head.
Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Set and achieve in-store and digital sales goals using selling tools, including text and social media.
Build lasting relationships with customers.
Provide customer service on customers’ terms.
Give customers honest and confident feedback about style and fit.
Develop fashion and product knowledge.
Keep the department customer-ready by filling orders, stocking, re-merchandising, completing price markdowns, and performing light cleaning.
Grow customer relationships by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts.
