About The Position

The Retail Sales position is based in Nordstrom’s Holiday Gift Shop at Irvine Spectrum Center. The employee sells in-store and digitally, works toward sales goals, builds customer relationships, provides service and style-and-fit advice, and develops fashion and product knowledge. The role also supports department readiness through order fulfillment, stocking, re-merchandising, markdowns, and light cleaning, and may involve opening Nordstrom Rewards accounts. Hours and schedules vary by week based on business needs. The employee may occasionally be asked to perform duties in another department. The position is seasonal, with pay listed at $18.80 per hour; commission may also apply to sales.

• Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set and achieve sales goals for in-store and digital selling, using selling tools including text and social media.
• Build lasting relationships with customers and provide service on their terms.
• Give customers honest and confident feedback about style and fit.
• Develop fashion and product knowledge.
• Keep the department customer-ready by filling orders, stocking, re-merchandising, processing price markdowns, and performing light cleaning.
• Grow customer relationships by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts.
• Be flexible to occasionally perform work or duties in a department other than the one hired into.
