About The Position

Scottsdale Arts is seeking a part-time Retail Sales Representative to provide customer service and promote merchandise in its Scottsdale, Arizona store. The representative engages visitors, shares accurate product information, supports a positive shopping experience, and helps orient visitors to Scottsdale Arts exhibitions and programs. The role also includes operating retail equipment, completing sales and register procedures, maintaining inventory and displays, gift wrapping, supporting store volunteers, and keeping store and back areas organized. The position pays $19.47 per hour and is part-time, up to a maximum of 28 hours per week. The schedule is flexible, but the representative must be available for evening shifts until 9:00 p.m. and weekends. The store is closed Monday and Tuesday and is generally open Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some shifts from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of retail sales or customer service experience.
• Ability to add, subtract, and calculate percentages.
• Ability to handle cash, check, and credit card transactions accurately and with integrity.
• Ability to solve practical problems.
• Ability to interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to use the technology equipment needed to run the store.
• Friendly, open, and approachable manner that positively supports customer service.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed or assigned.

Nice To Haves

• Creative merchandising skills.
• Previous experience with POS and ticketing software.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in the arts.
• Bilingual abilities.
• Experience with Shopify and AudienceView software.

Responsibilities

• Engage store visitors about merchandise, provide accurate product information, answer questions, demonstrate merchandise, and support an excellent shopping experience.
• Operate retail equipment, including a cash register, POS system, credit card processor, iPad Square, and calculator.
• Perform opening and closing procedures, including balancing registers.
• Assist with stocking, labeling, and displaying merchandise.
• Gift-wrap merchandise as needed.
• Orient visitors to Scottsdale Arts exhibitions and programs.
• Provide support and direction to store volunteers as needed.
• Keep store and back areas neat, clean, and organized.
• Perform other duties as required.
