Retail Sales - Cashier
About The Position
Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina is hiring a cashier to greet and assist customers in a friendly, respectful manner. Successful candidates are team-oriented, positive, and dependable, including when handling challenging customer interactions. The role includes cashiering and customer service, maintaining store appearance, and may involve cross-training in donation receiving, pricing, stocking, and textile and clothing production tasks. Associates should be available to work most store hours, particularly evenings and weekends. The stores are open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. The position pays $15.00. Eligible benefits are available after a waiting period.
Requirements
- Be a team player, positive, dependable, and respectful when working with customers, including challenging customers.
- Be available to work most store hours, especially evenings and weekends.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Production or similar experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register and provide customer service.
- Rotate stock, tidy the store, and continually maintain its appearance.
- May receive, price, and stock donations as part of cross-training.
- Hang, inspect, and tag textiles and clothing in a production-style setting.
