About The Position

Retail Sales Associates serve as Columbia Sportswear Company brand ambassadors, creating exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. They use problem-solving and sales skills to answer customer questions, recommend products, and support customer service and teamwork. Associates also help the Store Leadership team advance the company’s mission of connecting active people with their passions.

The role covers customer service, visual merchandising, store cleanliness and safety, checkout transactions, and the accurate handling and processing of merchandise. The position requires a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally or in response to local business trends.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Up to 2 years of experience in a position or specialization.
• Skill operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Ability to communicate clearly with others.
• Availability to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally or in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.
• Ability to move about frequently and adjust or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer questions about product features, benefits, and availability, and understand customers’ needs and preferences.
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise, suggest suitable options, and make product recommendations.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Perform cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections, efficiently and accurately.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently.
• Support the Store Leadership team in providing customer service and teamwork.
