About The Position

As a Retail Selling Colleague, you combine results-driven selling with genuine hospitality to create standout shopping experiences. You learn about customers’ needs, offer personalized recommendations, connect them with appropriate products and services, and use product knowledge and a personal approach to build trust, meet sales goals, and inspire loyalty. The role also includes maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting shopping environment. Colleagues prepare for the day by reviewing sales goals, learning about new arrivals and top sellers, and staying current on trends and promotions. On the sales floor, they welcome customers and build relationships through friendly, personal conversations. Throughout the day, they recover the sales floor and fitting rooms, update signs and pricing, and support merchandise moves. They share loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have what they need, and provide a sincere closing to each interaction. Colleagues collaborate with one another, pursue continuous improvement, and work toward individual and store results. Schedules include weekend shifts, and availability may be needed for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. Macy’s states that full-time colleagues typically work 30 or more hours per week and part-time colleagues typically work 12–24 hours per week.
