Retail Sales Associate (Horseshoe Bossier) Part-Time
About The Position
The Retail Sales Associate enhances the guest experience in the retail shops by providing fast, friendly, and courteous service. The associate assists guests with information about products and services, helps them find and select merchandise, and supports purchases from selection through checkout. The role also includes maintaining merchandise presentation and store cleanliness, replenishing stock, and following department and property policies and procedures. The position requires working in a fast-paced retail environment with loud music and large crowds, and may involve any day of the week and any shift.
Requirements
- Previous cash-handling experience is required.
- Must be able to obtain a Bossier ABO Card and Responsible Vendor Certification.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to initiate and engage in conversation in a professional and friendly manner.
- Must present a professional, pleasant, and well-groomed appearance that guests find approachable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work any day of the week and any shift.

- Ability to sit, stand, bend, crouch, stoop, and kneel while assisting customers.
- Manual dexterity to operate the cash register and assemble gift baskets.
- Ability to handle multiple functions accurately while staying organized and attentive to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to respond to visual and aural cues and maneuver throughout all retail shops.
- Ability to tolerate loud music and large crowds.

Responsibilities
- Acknowledge, greet, and converse with guests in English to create a positive guest experience.
- Learn store merchandise and communicate product knowledge in a friendly and helpful manner.
- Implement the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee when needed.
- Answer questions about merchandise location, price, and use.
- Use suggestive selling techniques and accurately size customers.
- Direct or escort customers to the cashier.
- Operate the cash register, total guest purchases, and balance the cash drawer daily.
- Review price sheets for price changes or adjustments and collect cash, checks, or charge payments for transactions.
- Weigh items, bag merchandise, and wrap or gift-wrap merchandise.
- Inspect merchandise before wrapping or bagging to verify it is in satisfactory condition.
- Wrap packages for shipment or route them to the delivery department.
- Assist with stocking and store displays, maintain store cleanliness, dust, and keep merchandise folded.
- Stock shelves, counters, tables, and displays, and retrieve merchandise from the stockroom when it is not on the sales floor.
- Rehang garments by size on display racks and refasten buttons or zippers on garments tried on by customers.
- Follow department and property policies and procedures and meet attendance guidelines.
- Work independently with little supervision while handling multiple functions accurately and with attention to detail.
- Work cooperatively with coworkers as a team.
