About The Position

The Groundskeeper maintains greenery and landscaping throughout the property, including planters and water systems. The role includes caring for shrubs, trees, and ornamental plants; maintaining and repairing sprinklers and waterlines; grooming flower beds and exposed soil; and assisting laborers with large jobs when needed. The position requires adherence to attendance guidelines and departmental and company policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active Louisiana driver’s license.
• At least two years of previous experience in landscaping or gardening, with appropriate certification.
• Ability to get along well with co-workers and work as a team player.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work any day and any shift.
• Ability to hear across the full audible range in high-noise conditions, with average vision and color perception.
• Ability to stoop, bend, jump, carry heavy loads, and run on level surfaces and up or down stairs.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Coordination and dexterity to operate power sweepers, forklifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment.
• Ability to work in temperatures above 115 degrees or below 10 degrees.
• Ability to think clearly and respond calmly in emergency situations.
• Ability to learn and retain the locations, operation, and repair procedures of the property’s equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the health, vitality, and appearance of shrubs, trees, and ornamental plants.
• Maintain and repair sprinklers and waterlines associated with landscaped areas.
• Groom flower beds and exposed soil daily.
• Assist laborers with large jobs when needed.
• Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies.
