Retail Sales Associate (In-Store Sales and Customer Service)
About The Position
The Retail Sales Associate delivers value to AAA members while supporting overall sales performance. The role promotes and recommends AAA memberships, insurance referrals, and financial products; helps customers plan travel, including hotels, car rentals, and vacation packages; and manages and responds to Roadside Assistance calls throughout the day. The associate also supports team operations by assisting with cashiering, tag and title services, and ID services as needed. This is a full-time, 37.5-hour-per-week position at 100 Rosa Parks Dr., Akron, Ohio. The stated schedule is Monday 9 a.m.–6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday 9 a.m.–5 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m.–12 p.m.; there are no Sunday shifts or late nights. Hourly pay is $15.54–$20.00, adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. The posting also describes a monthly incentive opportunity averaging $162–$389 based on individual performance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to build trust and clearly explain value.
- Comfort navigating multiple systems in a fast-paced environment.
- Satisfactory pre-employment and post-employment screening results, including criminal, drug, and state- and/or vendor-specific screenings.
- Ability to obtain any necessary Membership license or other license required to perform the essential functions of the position.
Nice To Haves
- Previous sales experience.
- Basic geography knowledge.
- Notary Public designation, or willingness to obtain it within 6 months of employment.
