About The Position

The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The associate follows operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role supports a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect; handles customer purchases and returns accurately; promotes credit and loyalty programs; processes merchandise for the sales floor; and helps maintain merchandising, cleanliness, recovery, and safety standards. The associate also participates in shrink-reduction efforts, follows applicable labor laws and company procedures, and performs other duties as assigned. This position is at the TJ Maxx store at 125 Aberdeen Pines Way, Aberdeen, North Carolina. Starting pay is USD $12.75 to $13.25 per hour. Actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers and following customer experience principles.
Role-model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.

Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to established procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards on the sales floor and help maintain the cleanliness of the entire store.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work in multiple store areas when cross-trained to support business needs.
