About The Position

As a Retail Associate, you serve as a brand ambassador and help create exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. You use problem-solving and sales abilities to answer customer questions, make product recommendations, and support Columbia Sportswear Company’s values of customer service and teamwork. Associates also support the Store Leadership team and the company’s mission of connecting active people with their passions.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Have 2 or fewer years of experience in a position or specialization.
• Be able to operate inventory and point-of-sale systems and other retail software tools.
• Communicate clearly with others.
• Be available to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.

• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer questions or concerns about product features, benefits, and availability, and understand customer needs and preferences.
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise and suggest suitable product options.
• Maintain visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety standards in the store.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Complete cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections, efficiently and accurately.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently.
