About The Position

As a Retail Selling Colleague in the Women’s Shoes department, you combine results-driven selling with genuine hospitality to create memorable customer experiences. You learn about customers’ needs, provide personalized recommendations, share product and service information, and use customer engagement and effective selling behaviors to meet sales goals and build loyalty. The role involves more than cashiering: you help keep the shopping area clean, organized, and inviting, and support customers throughout their visit. Daily work includes preparing the sales floor, reviewing sales goals, learning about new arrivals, popular items, trends, and promotions, and engaging customers in friendly conversations. You maintain a shoppable sales floor and fitting rooms, update signs and pricing, and assist with merchandise moves. You share loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have what they need, and close interactions with a sincere thank-you. Colleagues support one another through honesty, care, and collaboration, and work to improve and achieve individual and store results. This is a full-time position. Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week. Schedules include weekend shifts, and hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. Availability is required for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position requires frequent customer and colleague communication, use of computers and other technology, and physical activity including standing, lifting, moving, reaching, and climbing ladders. Macy’s describes its workplace as dynamic and inclusive and offers competitive pay and benefits, including health and wellness coverage, a 401(k) match, paid time off, paid holidays, learning and leadership development, and colleague resource groups and volunteer opportunities.
