About The Position
As a Retail Sales and Recovery Associate, you help create a welcoming shopping experience through genuine hospitality and attention to detail. You keep the store clean, organized, and visually engaging by maintaining merchandise displays, tidying fitting rooms, and keeping the sales floor customer-ready. You contribute to sales goals through consistent, high-quality service and a friendly, approachable manner. You begin the day by preparing the sales floor, reviewing goals, new arrivals, top sellers, and promotions, and staying informed and ready to assist customers. Throughout the day, you welcome customers, build friendly personal interactions, recover the sales floor and fitting rooms, update signs and pricing, and support merchandise moves. You share loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have what they need, and close interactions with a sincere thank-you. You collaborate with colleagues, uphold Macy’s commitments to diversity, inclusion, and respect, and continually work to improve service and store results. This is a seasonal position. Availability is expected to be flexible, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with dependable attendance and punctuality. The job involves frequent standing and movement, lifting, reaching, and use of electronic devices and register equipment.
Requirements
- Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Read and understand employment policies and safety rules and procedures in English.
- Have flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Enjoy meeting people, learning about them, and sharing information.
- Be resourceful, adaptable to changing priorities, able to work independently, and effective in a team.
- Be able to use electronic devices.
- Be able to talk, lift, move constantly, stand, and reach with arms and hands.
- Stand for at least two consecutive hours and lift at least 25 pounds.
- Be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and reach above eye level.
- Have close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Frequently use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and process register transactions.
