Pet Store Team Member - Live Animal Care Department
About The Position
The Retail Pet Store Associate (Team Member) supports customers and their pets in a neighborhood-focused retail environment. The role combines customer service with care for live animals, including fish, birds, hamsters, and bearded dragons. Team members help customers select products and pet food, make recommendations based on each pet’s needs, and assist customers with building enclosures. They also operate the point-of-sale system, process transactions and returns, promote store offers and loyalty programs, stock shelves, manage inventory, and maintain organized displays. The position offers pet-care and product training, flexible scheduling, and opportunities to grow into leadership or specialized store roles.
Requirements
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced retail environment, especially on weekends.
- Willingness to learn about pet nutrition, products, and care.
- Reliable, team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to lift and stock items and remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
