About The Position

The Pet Store Team Member supports customers and their pets in a friendly, neighborhood-focused retail environment. The role combines customer service, product recommendations, store operations, stocking, and basic pet-care assistance. Team members help pet parents choose products suited to their pets, process transactions, promote store offers, maintain organized displays and inventory, and assist with self-wash stations. The position provides training in pet care and product knowledge, with opportunities to develop skills and grow into leadership or specialized store roles.

Requirements

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Willingness to learn about pet nutrition, products, and care.

• Ability to lift and stock supplies and remain on your feet for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly and enthusiastic manner.

• Make product recommendations based on each pet’s needs.
• Operate the POS system, process transactions, and handle returns.
• Promote store specials, loyalty programs, and current offers.
• Stock shelves, manage inventory, and keep displays organized.
• Lift and stock bags of pet food and other supplies.
• Assist customers with self-wash stations and explain how to use them.
• Restock bathing supplies and help keep the store clean and welcoming.
