About The Position

vineyard vines is seeking a Retail Operations Specialist to support the efficiency and effectiveness of its retail stores by optimizing labor allocation, workload distribution, and operational planning. The role analyzes store workload drivers, aligns labor resources with business needs, and helps ensure operational tasks are completed productively while enhancing the customer experience. The specialist works cross-functionally with Retail Operations, Finance, HR, and Store Leadership, and conducts tests to measure how labor investments affect sales and operational performance to inform workforce planning.

Requirements

1–2 years of experience in retail operations, workforce planning, or related fields.
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
Experience designing and executing A/B tests or pilot programs to evaluate labor investments.
Proficiency in workforce management and scheduling tools.
Understanding of retail operational processes, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and omnichannel fulfillment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across organizational levels.
Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

Experience with labor modeling software.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain workload models to determine labor needs across stores based on sales trends, customer traffic, and operational tasks.
Partner with Finance and Retail Operations leadership to align labor budgets with business goals and seasonal trends.
Support the development and refinement of store scheduling strategies.
Monitor labor utilization and identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining customer service.
Assess in-store operational workload, including shipment processing, floor sets, omnichannel fulfillment, and other non-selling activities.
Partner with Store Leadership to streamline processes and remove productivity inefficiencies.
Develop playbooks and best practices for balancing operational workload with customer-facing responsibilities.
Identify technology and system enhancements that could improve workforce planning and execution.
Design and execute tests to assess how labor investment impacts sales, conversion, and overall store performance.
Track and analyze pilot program results to determine the ROI of labor adjustments.
Recommend labor allocation strategies based on data-driven insights.
Partner with Retail Leadership to implement test findings and continuously optimize labor strategies.
Track and analyze KPIs related to labor productivity, task execution, and payroll efficiency.
Provide actionable insights to Retail Leadership to support decision-making.
Collaborate with Finance and HR to align labor and workload planning with overall business strategy.
Support labor forecasting and planning for peak periods, including holidays and promotional events.
Act as a liaison between corporate Retail Operations, Finance, and Store Leadership to align workload and labor strategies.
Provide guidance and training to store teams on workload management best practices.
Collaborate with HR on workforce optimization initiatives, including scheduling and staffing models.
Support field leadership with data-driven recommendations on labor and workload planning.
Support ad hoc reporting needs and store compliance.
