About The Position

Guitar Center’s mission is to develop and nurture lifelong musicians and help people experience the joy of creating music. The Retail Operations Associate supports store operations by handling shipments and receiving, administering daily tasks, and ensuring products are merchandised to provide customers with a great store experience. The role calls for collaboration, customer focus, initiative, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to learn retail technology and systems. Work takes place in a loud environment, and the associate must be available for weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to work in a loud environment for 5–8 hours.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to collaborate and build effective working relationships.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and connect meaningfully with customers.
• Ability to identify opportunities and issues, follow through, and take initiative.
• Organizational skills, including prioritizing, multitasking, and attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-urgency environment.
• Ability to learn and use technology, retail systems, equipment, and computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks related to inventory control.
• Ship and receive gear and other items.
• Prepare for and execute inventory cycle counts.
• Stock and merchandise products according to a planogram.
• Print and place promotional and price signage (POP).
• Handle cash.
• Maintain awareness of shrink and help control it.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
