About The Position

The Retail Operations Associate supports Guitar Center’s mission to nurture lifelong musicians and help customers experience the joy of creating music. This role handles shipping and receiving, inventory-related tasks, daily operational duties, and merchandising to help ensure an enjoyable customer experience in the store. Successful associates collaborate effectively, focus on customer service, show initiative, stay organized in a fast-paced environment, protect people and assets by following protocols, and learn the technology and systems needed for the role.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to work in a loud environment for 5–8 hours.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to collaborate and build effective working relationships.
• Customer-service orientation and ability to connect with customers in a meaningful way.
• Initiative, including identifying opportunities or issues and following through on work activities.
• Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-urgency environment.
• Ability to learn and use retail technology, systems, equipment, and computer programs.
• Ability to follow protocols and guidelines to protect assets and people.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks related to inventory control.
• Ship and receive gear and other items.
• Prepare and execute inventory cycle counts.
• Stock and merchandise products according to a planogram.
• Print and place signage and price signs (POP).
• Handle cash.
• Maintain awareness of shrink and help control it.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
