Retail Manager in Training Full Time
About The Position
The Salon Director in Training helps drive salon performance, foster superior client service, and maintain operational excellence to meet or exceed productivity goals. The role manages and supervises Tanning Consultants, leads by example in salon operations, and holds the team accountable for delivering an exceptional client experience. The position assists the Salon Director with revenue, expenses, staffing, sales reporting, inventory, and other salon functions. The role is based in a fast-paced salon environment and requires working nights and weekends. The schedule is a five-day workweek of approximately 35 to 45 hours, depending on hourly or salary status. Compensation is listed as a base pay of $15.00 per hour or more, with performance and store bonuses; the stated average of $20.00 per hour is not guaranteed.
Requirements
- Management and/or sales experience.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple situations simultaneously.
- Knowledge of client service techniques and operational practices.
- Problem-solving, organizational, and planning skills.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to coach and mentor.
- Team-building skills.
- Ability to prioritize and delegate.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
- Ability to bend at the waist to clean tanning equipment.
- Ability to lift or assist in lifting items and heavy boxes.
- Ability to bend down to pick up trash, towels, and other items from floors.
- Ability to perform salon cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.

Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage daily salon operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Lead by example in company operations, create a client-centric experience, and meet personal sales expectations.
- Maintain a professional and impeccably clean salon environment.
- Establish clear goals and objectives for team members.
- Coach, train, and provide feedback to improve team members’ daily performance.
- Generate sales reports, maintain inventory, and assist with other Salon Director functions.
- Assist the Salon Director in controlling revenue and expenses.
- Help maintain appropriate staffing levels to support productivity and customer service while controlling labor costs.
- Work nights and weekends and follow a five-day workweek of approximately 35 to 45 hours, depending on hourly or salary status.
