Retail Loss Prevention Detective
About The Position
The Retail Loss Prevention Detective completes daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. The role identifies and resolves internal and external theft, conducts apprehensions in accordance with established policies and guidelines, and communicates with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives. The position supports store shrink-reduction goals and programs, coordinates shrink-related activities with Store Management, participates in investigations and surveillance as assigned, and promotes safety awareness. It also requires accurate and timely paperwork, appropriate evidence handling, an understanding of law enforcement procedures, and professional participation in legal activities as needed.

Responsibilities
- Adhere to established shoplifter guidelines and policies.
- Provide timely, courteous, and knowledgeable customer service.
- Promote honesty and integrity while maintaining confidentiality.
- Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
- Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
- Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
- Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Maintain appropriate evidence, understand law enforcement procedures, and participate professionally in legal activities as needed.
- Coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
- Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Encourage Associate use of shrink-reduction resources.
- Promote safety awareness and support a safe environment.
- Communicate with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives.
- Identify and resolve internal and external theft.
