About The Position

Boscov's is a full-service department store chain serving customers’ family needs with a broad selection of merchandise in stores and online. The Loss Prevention Detective joins the retail operations team and uses loss prevention experience to reduce losses caused by theft or incorrect business procedures. The role involves guarding, patrolling, and monitoring store premises to help prevent theft, violence, and rule violations.

Requirements

• Prior experience in retail loss prevention is preferred.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with customers, management, and coworkers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Availability to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, early openings, and late closings.

Responsibilities

• Provide loss prevention support and awareness through policies, procedures, and personal involvement.
• Conduct surveillance and assist police with shoplifter apprehensions.
• Perform store opening and closing procedures.
• Conduct safety audits, safety and fire prevention activities, and inspections.
• Respond to alarms.
• Conduct insurance inspections and investigations.
• Guard, patrol, and monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
