About The Position

Boscov's is hiring a Loss Prevention Detective to join its retail operations team. The role uses retail loss prevention experience to reduce profitability losses caused by theft or incorrect business procedures in a dynamic retail environment. The detective guards, patrols, and monitors store premises to prevent theft, violence, and rule infractions, while supporting asset management and store safety.

Requirements

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with customers, management, and coworkers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Availability to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, early openings, and late closings.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in retail loss prevention is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide loss prevention support and awareness through policies, procedures, and personal involvement.
• Conduct surveillance and assist police with apprehensions of shoplifters.
• Perform store opening and closing procedures.
• Conduct safety audits and safety and fire prevention inspections.
• Respond to alarms.
• Conduct insurance inspections and investigations.
• Guard, patrol, and monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
