About The Position

The Retail Loss Prevention Detective completes daily tasks for store loss prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. The role helps identify and resolve internal and external theft, supports shrink-reduction initiatives, and promotes a safe store environment. It conducts apprehensions within established policies and guidelines, participates in investigations and surveillance as assigned, and communicates with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives. The position provides timely, courteous, and knowledgeable customer service and promotes honesty, integrity, and confidentiality. The Detective ensures apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity, completes and distributes paperwork accurately and promptly, and maintains appropriate evidence. The role demonstrates understanding of law-enforcement procedures and participates professionally in legal activities as needed, such as police calls. It coordinates shrink-related activities with Store Management, follows labor laws and company policies and procedures, supports store shrink-reduction goals, and encourages Associates to use shrink-reduction resources. The position is at Marshalls Store 0023 in Salem, New Hampshire. The starting pay range is USD $15.00 to $20.40 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Complete daily tasks required for store loss-prevention and safety programs.
Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
Conduct apprehensions in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
Communicate with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives.
Identify and resolve internal and external theft.
Adhere to established shoplifter guidelines and policies.
Provide timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and promptly.
Maintain appropriate evidence and professionally participate in legal activities as needed, such as police calls.
Coordinate shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Encourage Associate use of shrink-reduction resources.
Promote safety awareness and support a safe environment.
