About The Position

The Retail Loss Prevention Detective completes daily tasks for store loss prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. The role helps protect store assets by identifying and resolving internal and external theft, conducting apprehensions in accordance with established policies, and supporting shrink-reduction and safety initiatives. The detective also provides timely, courteous, and knowledgeable customer service and promotes a culture of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality.

The position participates in investigations and surveillance as assigned; maintains evidence and accurate, timely paperwork; and may professionally participate in legal activities such as police calls. The detective coordinates shrink-related activities with Store Management, supports and encourages use of shrink-reduction resources, and follows applicable labor laws, policies, and procedures. The position is located at Marshalls Store 1281 in Bristol, Tennessee. Starting pay is $14.55 to $20.40 per hour, with actual pay based on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs.
• Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
• Conduct apprehensions within established policies and guidelines, ensuring they are consistent with store theft activity.
• Communicate with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives.
• Identify and resolve internal and external theft; observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
• Adhere to established shoplifter guidelines and policies.
• Provide timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers.
• Promote a culture of honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
• Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
• Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and on time.
• Maintain appropriate evidence, understand law enforcement procedures, and professionally participate in legal activities as needed, such as police calls.
• Coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
• Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs, and encourage Associate use of shrink-reduction resources.
• Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
