About The Position

The Retail Loss Prevention Detective completes daily tasks for store loss prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. The role identifies and resolves internal and external theft, conducts apprehensions in accordance with established policies, and communicates with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives. The Detective supports shrink-reduction goals and programs, promotes safety awareness, and helps maintain a safe store environment.

The position also involves participating in investigations and surveillance as assigned, maintaining appropriate evidence, completing accurate and timely paperwork, and professionally participating in legal activities as needed. The Detective provides courteous and knowledgeable customer service, promotes honesty and integrity, and maintains confidentiality. This position is located at the TJ Maxx store at 4938 S Staples St, Suite B3, Corpus Christi, Texas. Starting pay is $14.55 to $20.40 per hour, with actual pay determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs.
• Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
• Conduct apprehensions within established policies and guidelines.
• Communicate with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives.
• Identify and resolve internal and external theft.
• Adhere to established shoplifter guidelines and policies.
• Provide timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers.
• Promote a culture of honesty and integrity, and maintain confidentiality.
• Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
• Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
• Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
• Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain appropriate evidence, demonstrate understanding of law enforcement procedures, and participate professionally in legal activities as needed, such as police calls.
• Coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
• Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Encourage Associate use of shrink-reduction resources.
• Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
