Retail Loss Prevention Detective
About The Position
The Retail Loss Prevention Detective completes daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. The role identifies and resolves internal and external theft, conducts apprehensions in accordance with established policies and guidelines, and communicates with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives. The detective supports investigations and surveillance, helps achieve store shrink-reduction goals, and promotes safety awareness. The position also requires accurate and timely documentation, appropriate handling of evidence, and professional participation in legal activities as needed, such as police calls. The role provides courteous, knowledgeable customer service and maintains confidentiality and a culture of honesty and integrity. The position is at Marshalls Store 0349 in Gahanna, Ohio. The starting pay range is USD $14.55 to $20.40 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
- Complete daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs.
- Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
- Conduct apprehensions in accordance with established policies, guidelines, and shoplifter procedures.
- Communicate with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives.
- Identify and resolve internal and external theft.
- Provide timely, courteous, and knowledgeable customer service.
- Promote a culture of honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
- Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
- Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
- Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
- Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and on time.
- Maintain appropriate evidence, demonstrate understanding of law enforcement procedures, and participate professionally in legal activities as needed, such as police calls.
- Coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
- Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Encourage Associate use of shrink-reduction resources.
- Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
