About The Position

Goodwill of Colorado is hiring a full-time Retail Generalist Associate for its Coal Mine Store. The Associate II, Retail Generalist, uses knowledge of retail products, merchandising, pricing, and quality inspection to provide backup across store departments. The role may involve multiple tasks on a given day, including receiving donations, material handling, processing hardline and softline goods, working on the sales floor, and operating cash registers. Work takes place in both a production environment and on the sales floor, with customer contact and an expectation of excellent service that reflects the organization's “Attitude of Gratitude.” The role requires open availability and a varied schedule that may include weekends, evenings, holidays, and occasional overtime. Full-time employees in the Retail and Sales/Operations Division are eligible for the benefits described in the posting. The position is eligible for DailyPay, a voluntary benefit that allows employees to access their pay on their own schedule.

Requirements

High attention to detail and ability to make decisions.
Ability to adapt to frequently changing work schedules and tasks.
Ability to obtain certification in employee positions by completing On-the-Job (OJT) documentation.
Ability to obtain Powered Equipment Operator certification and safely operate equipment; ability to operate a hydraulic baler and obtain walkie stacker and/or forklift certification.
Ability to withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting for up to 8 hours per day.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and use a dolly and pallet jack as required.
Ability to work a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, with occasional overtime as necessary.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
Open availability is required.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
One year of experience in retail, product placement, or merchandising is desired.
One year of cash-handling experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Cross-train in other departments and act as backup for other areas as required.
Work with department supervisors to identify staffing shortages and areas needing support to meet retail store goals.
Accept customer donations, including loading and unloading products, and handle items with care.
Sort and inspect donated items, assess product quality and value, price items, and research value as needed.
Use certified equipment and tools to move and store donated products.
Keep the sales floor stocked according to store policies and procedures.
Process accurate cashier transactions and maintain a balanced cash drawer using a computer-based point-of-sale system.
Assist customers with product questions and provide excellent customer service.
Keep production and sales-floor areas organized, stocked, clean, and presentable.
Process E-Commerce products accurately and move them efficiently to E-Commerce.
Rotate or pull old and unsold products from the sales floor so that product selection remains fresh.
Help maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required.
