About The Position

MTI is seeking flexible, project-based field and network technicians to implement, maintain, upgrade, and repair networks and networked devices, including access points, routers, switches, POS systems, printers, and modems. Technicians set up and troubleshoot wired and wireless connections in varied environments and ensure adequate signal strength for clients. Upcoming POS work is scheduled from the end of March through early August 2026, Monday through Thursday.

Requirements

• Must be over the age of 18.
• Current driver's license, vehicle, and insurance required.
• Previous IT or related technical technician experience required.
• Technically inclined, with experience in cabling runs, management, testing, and termination, and network provisioning.
• Excellent communication skills via phone, text, and email.
• Must have a smartphone or mobile device.
• Flexible availability.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of various networking technologies.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with an aptitude for customer support.
• Able to lift 60 pounds on occasion and climb up and down ladders.
• Able to regularly stand, walk, bend over, reach overhead, and use a computer and telephone system.
• Travel is required.

Nice To Haves

• POS experience is a plus.
• Certifications are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, upgrade, and repair networks and networked devices.
• Set up and troubleshoot wired and wireless connections and provide adequate signal strength at client locations.
• Run, manage, test, and terminate cabling; provision networks.
• Test networks and Wi-Fi signals, including heat mapping.
• Install and troubleshoot access points, routers, and switches.
• Travel to various markets and work in varied client environments.
• Communicate with clients and team members by phone, text, and email.
• Use hand tools and perform physical tasks, including lifting and ladder use.
• Perform other duties and activities as assigned; responsibilities may change with or without notice.
