About The Position

MTI is hiring flexible field, low-voltage, and network technicians for its Service Tech US department. The role involves implementing, maintaining, upgrading, and repairing networks and networked devices, including access points, routers, switches, POS systems, printers, and modems. Technicians set up and troubleshoot wired and wireless connections in varied environments and provide adequate signal strength for client use. Travel to various markets is required and paid. Training is provided and paid. The role is non-exempt. Flexible freelancers, small-business owners, and tech gig workers with weekday availability are also encouraged to apply; MTI may be able to work around other work schedules. The work takes place in varied environments with average-to-high noise and lighting levels and may involve facility ceiling spaces or crawl spaces. The position includes regular standing, walking, bending, overhead reaching, occasional lifting of 60 pounds, ladder climbing, and frequent use of hand tools. Requirements

Must be over 18 years of age.
Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and a vehicle.
Previous IT or related technical technician experience.
Technical aptitude and experience with cabling runs, management, testing, termination, and network provisioning.
Excellent communication skills via phone, text, and email.
Access to a smartphone or mobile device.
Flexible availability.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of various networking technologies.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Aptitude for customer support.
Ability to travel to various markets, lift 60 pounds on occasion, climb ladders, use hand tools, and regularly stand, walk, bend, and reach overhead.

Responsibilities

Implement, maintain, upgrade, and repair networks and networked devices, including access points, routers, switches, POS systems, printers, and modems.
Set up and troubleshoot wired and wireless connections in varied environments and ensure adequate signal strength for client use.
Run, manage, test, and terminate cabling and provision networks.
Test network Wi-Fi signals and perform heat mapping.
Install and troubleshoot access points, routers, and switches.
Travel to various markets as required.
Use hand tools and communicate by phone, text, and email.
Perform other duties as assigned; duties and responsibilities may change.
