About The Position

MTI is seeking flexible Retail Field and/or Network Technicians for several upcoming projects in 2026. Technicians implement, maintain, upgrade, and repair networks and networked devices, including access points, smart-lock access systems, routers, switches, POS systems, printers, and modems. They set up and troubleshoot connections in varied environments, using physical cabling or wireless frequencies to provide adequate signal strength for client use. Training is provided. Flexible availability and travel across various markets are required.

Requirements

• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Current driver's license, insurance, and a vehicle.
• Previous IT, POS, field technician, or related technical technician experience.
• Technical aptitude, including experience with cabling runs, management, testing and termination, and network provisioning.
• Excellent communication skills by phone, text, and email.
• A smartphone mobile device.
• Flexible availability.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of networking technologies.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, and aptitude for customer support.
• Ability to travel, use hand tools, climb ladders, lift 60 pounds on occasion, and regularly stand, walk, bend, and reach overhead.
• Ability to use a computer and telephone system.

Nice To Haves

• Certifications are a plus but are not required.
• POS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, upgrade, and repair networks and networked devices.
• Set up and troubleshoot wired and wireless connections in different environments.
• Run, manage, test, and terminate cabling, and provision networks.
• Test Wi-Fi networks and signals, including heat mapping.
• Install and troubleshoot access points, routers, and switches.
• Communicate with customers and team members by phone, text, and email.
• Travel to job sites in various markets.
• Use hand tools and climb ladders as needed.
• Lift items weighing 60 pounds or more on occasion.
