About The Position

MTI is seeking field, low-voltage, access management, and network technicians for flexible projects in retail environments. Technicians install, repair, troubleshoot, and upgrade retail security products, low-voltage security systems, networks, and networked devices. Work includes connecting devices by physical cable or wireless frequencies and ensuring adequate signal strength for clients. All training is provided. Travel to various markets is required and paid. The role offers flexible project work and may accommodate freelancers or small business owners with weekday availability.

Requirements

Previous IT or related technical technician experience.
Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and a vehicle.
Technical aptitude, including experience with cable runs, cable management, testing, termination, and network provisioning.
Excellent communication skills by phone, text, and email.
A smartphone or mobile device.
Flexible availability.
Ability to use hand tools frequently.
Ability to lift 60 pounds or more on occasion.
Ability to climb up and down ladders.
Must be over 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

Certifications; they are a plus but not required.
POS experience.

Responsibilities

Install, repair, troubleshoot, and upgrade retail security products and low-voltage security systems.
Install and troubleshoot networks, networked devices, access points, routers, and switches.
Perform cabling runs, cable management, testing, and termination, and network provisioning.
Test networks and Wi-Fi signals, including heat mapping.
Connect devices using physical cables or wireless frequencies and ensure adequate signal strength.
Provide customer support and communicate by phone, text, and email.
Travel to various markets for project work.
Use hand tools and climb ladders as needed.
