About The Position

The Retail Department Supervisor executes receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience through customer engagement, a clean and organized store, and exemplary customer service. Responsibilities include coordinating truck deliveries and merchandise flow to the sales floor, training and mentoring Associates, monitoring productivity, communicating priorities and progress, and supporting store safety, compliance, and shrink-reduction efforts. The position is at TJ Maxx Store 0371 in Owings Mills, Maryland, at 9616 Reisterstown Road. Starting pay is USD $16.25 to $16.75 per hour; actual pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Requirements

Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

One year of retail experience and six months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities, and provide progress updates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
