About The Position

As a Furniture Sales Colleague, also known as a Big Ticket Colleague, you provide outstanding customer service in Macy’s Furniture areas and create welcoming, comfortable shopping experiences. You are responsible for meeting sales goals, selling protection plans, managing return rates, and promoting the loyalty program. You use strong product knowledge to educate customers and address their needs. The role requires flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and involves frequent use of computers and other technology.

Responsibilities

Engage with customers to understand their furniture needs, demonstrate knowledge of store products and services, build sales, and minimize returns.
Offer personalized recommendations and suggest complementary products.
Use technology to complete customer orders and help customers envision, select, and compare suitable products.
Participate in ongoing product knowledge training through technology and vendor partners.
Provide high-level customer service by resolving problems with customer-focused solutions, including converting returns into exchanges and addressing delivery issues.
Maintain contact with customers before and after delivery to support a positive shopping and delivery experience.
Follow Asset Protection and inventory control compliance procedures.
Foster acceptance and respect and build authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
Meet sales goals, sell protection plans, manage return rates, and promote the loyalty program.
