About The Position

The Retail Clerk provides customer service to campers and guests shopping for apparel, souvenirs, and other items that help preserve their memories of camp. The role provides general assistance with store operations and interacts with guests in a warm, friendly manner. Work takes place at Hume, California, in a seasonal position.

Requirements

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks and work indoors or outdoors as needed.
• Dependable and punctual, and able to work under supervision.
• Must agree with and support Hume Christian Camps’ Statement of Faith.
• Must have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to share the Gospel through word and deed.
• Ability to stand and walk, frequently lift 25 pounds, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
• Ability to live and work in extreme weather conditions, at high altitude, and in small living quarters.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and answer guests’ questions about products.
• Operate the cash register.
• Stock shelves.
• Maintain the store’s organization and cleanliness.
• Follow safety procedures and supervisors’ directions.
• Contribute to a positive, cooperative, Christ-centered team environment.
• Represent Hume Christian Camps’ values and mission through conduct, attitude, and service.
