About The Position

The Store Support employee provides customer service at checkout and over the phone, assisting with sales, returns, and other transactions. The role helps keep service quick, easy, and enjoyable by listening to customer needs and sharing fashion knowledge. It also supports a well-maintained cash wrap and sales floor through straightening, light cleaning, and restocking, and may assist with order fulfillment and order pick-up. The position is seasonal and based in downtown Seattle.

Requirements

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and customer requests in a fast-paced environment.

Computer proficiency and interest in learning new computer applications.
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
Able to remain in continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to handle bulky and awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting items above the head.
Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Assist customers over the phone and at checkout with sales, returns, and other transactions while providing excellent customer service.
Listen to customer needs and share fashion knowledge to make service quick, easy, and enjoyable.
Help keep the department runway ready by straightening, lightly cleaning, and restocking the cash wrap area and sales floor.
Stay current on key fashion trends and products to help customers with purchase decisions.
Build customer relationships by sharing information about upcoming events, Nordstrom gift cards, and the Nordstrom Rewards program.
Support other areas of the store, including order fulfillment and order pick-up.
