About The Position

The Retail Associate supports daily retail store operations at Southern Oregon Goodwill, helping turn donated goods into funding for job training and employment programs. The role contributes to the organization’s mission of enabling employment through personal and professional growth while committing to sustainable practices. Duties include handling transactions, preparing and processing merchandise, tracking inventory, and assisting GoodWorks staff with client-program work plans as assigned by the store manager.

Requirements

Speak and understand English sufficiently to read materials and communicate with customers and coworkers.
Be able to maintain the physical requirements of the working environment.
Perform simple mathematical calculations.
Be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.

Nice To Haves

Experience that would support good customer service is highly desirable.
Previous experience in a retail or comparable environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate an electronic cash register and handle cash, charge, and check/voucher transactions.
Prepare cash drawers and related paperwork as assigned.
Receive, prepare, sort, price, and rotate merchandise for the retail floor, and conduct quality control.
Operate department equipment and machinery and prepare goods for sale, processing, or storage.
Perform inventories, tallies, and other tracking as required in the retail environment.
Assist GoodWorks staff with implementing work plans and guidelines for client programs, as assigned by the store manager.
