About The Position

Retail Associates serve as brand ambassadors and help create exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. They support Columbia Sportswear Company’s mission of connecting active people with their passions while working with the Store Leadership team. The role combines customer service and sales with maintaining product availability and visual presentation, processing transactions, and supporting efficient product flow.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Up to 2 years of experience in a position or specialization.
• Skill operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Ability to communicate clearly with others.
• Availability to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to local business trends or forecasts.
• Ability to frequently move about in an active environment and frequently adjust or move items weighing up to 40 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer questions and issues about product features, benefits, and availability, and learn about customers’ needs and preferences.
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise, suggest suitable options, and make product recommendations.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Perform cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections, accurately and efficiently.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently.
• Support the Store Leadership team and contribute to customer service, teamwork, and store profitability.
