About The Position

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is hiring a Retail Associate - Food Services to perform moderately difficult work preparing and serving food, along with cashiering duties. The role supports cash operation outlets by handling food and supplies, maintaining dining and preparation areas, following established practices and procedures, and using and sanitizing food-service equipment properly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to understand and follow simple verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Collect, prepare, distribute, serve, and store food and supplies in cash operation outlets, including merchandising in compliance with applicable codes.
• Perform duties according to established practices learned through annual in-service training and procedures.
• Transport full compost, recycling, and trash bins by elevator to the appropriate holding area.
• Maintain the cleanliness of tables, chairs, counters, and preparation spaces in dining rooms across cash operation outlets.
• Use and sanitize the equipment needed to perform the role properly.
• Perform cash-handling functions in cash operation outlets.
